In 1966, American rockers The Seeds scored their only top 40 hit with “Pushin’ Too Hard”. A true garage band, The Seeds don’t have a very impressive list of achievements, but their influence is legendary. The number of bands and artists that refer to the Seeds as a huge influence is wildly impressive. Credited with pioneers in both punk and psychedelic rock, they also coined the phrase “Flower Power”. They’ve also released 15 albums over the years, considered cult classics today. To me, The Seeds deserve a better fate than just the one hit record, and it’s a shame that it’s a forgotten oldie.
