I remember the first time I saw Gary Lewis on TV. He was the kid that looked and sounded just like his dad. I thought “Oh Boy, we do NOT need another Jerry Lewis… one is great, two would be too much!” I was very relieved a couple of years later when he became a successful musician with a string of hits in the 60’s. One of his hits during the summer of 1965 went all the way to #2 on the Hot 100. The song was “Save Your Heart For Me”, and it was one of seven songs in a row from the band that reached the top ten. Plus DJ’s loved the record because it was under two minutes long. Here’s another song that was a huge hit, but is a forgotten oldie today.
