In 1970 the Bee Gees announced they were re-uniting. They’d broken up 15 months earlier when brother Robin quit the group. The first song the re-formed group recorded was “Lonely Days Lonely Nights” which promptly climbed to #3 on the hot 100 (#1 on Cashbox) and was also a hit all around the world. The song was their first top five song in the USA and signaled a change for the group, elevating them to superstar status. Today the song is rarely heard and it’s become another forgotten oldie, a shame to me because it’s my all-time favorite Bee Gees song.
