A new media trends survey shows that some 55% of U.S. households now subscribe to paid services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime or Hulu. That’s an increase of 450% since 2009, when only 10 percent of households subscribed. People spend an average 38 hours watching video content each week, 15 hours of which is streamed. People without pay TV say they don’t watch enough TV to justify the expense. I guess I’d be in that camp. Of course I’m also the last person on earth that doesn’t own a cell phone.
