A new study has proved that reading aloud helps you better retain the info. Both speaking the information and hearing yourself say it is a sort of underlining of the information. Test subjects were asked to retain information in four ways: by reading it quietly, listening to someone else read it, reading aloud in real time, or listening to a recording of oneself reading it. The study found that reading aloud in real time was the best way to retain the info. I just read aloud every word of what I just typed and I still can’t remember a thing.
