Researchers say that your dogs can read your emotions just by looking at your face. And if they see that you’re in a bad mood, they get stressed out. The study made 26 hungry dogs look at pictures of people making various emotional expressions. Expressions of fear, anger, and happiness, made them turn their heads to the left. That head turn coincides with the dog’s “fight or flight” instinct which stresses them out. A dog at peace will turn its head to the right when exposed to a neutral or surprised look. No word on whether dogs become highly annoyed when subjected to human dress up games.
