Remember Hurricane Smith?

Hurricane Smith was a very successful record engineer and producer whose wife Sylvia wrote a song called “Oh Babe, What Would You Say?”  In 1972, Hurricane recorded and released the song at the urging of friends.  It became a huge hit, #3 on the hot 100, #1 on Cashbox, #3 in Canada and #4 in the UK.  Smith had several more hits in Britain but faded away in the USA.  By the way, he engineered over 100 Beatle songs at EMI all the way through Rubber Soul.  He also recorded many Pink Floyd recordings, as well as other artists.  Today his great song is just a forgotten oldie in the USA, but Hurricane still performed in Europe until his death in 2008.
