First of all, Happy Birthday to the British Invasion. On February 7, 1964 the Beatles arrived at JFK in New York and the invasion began. Two days later, the Beatles appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show and Beatlemania swept the country. For many people tuning in, they were seeing and hearing the Fab Four for the first time. And the first song played by the Beatles was “All My Loving”. The song drove the mostly young girl audience into a screaming frenzy that literally lasted for years. “All My Loving” was never released as a single in the USA, but it was in Canada, and there were so many orders for the record from the USA that the song actually climbed to #45 on the hot 100. Add to that the popularity the song enjoyed among radio stations that played the heck out of it, and you have a genuine hit record. Today though, it’s a rare Beatles forgotten oldie.
