No, the headline is not about an exciting new way to keep seniors regular, it’s the name of an American band that had two big hits in 1967, and then faded away. The Electric Prunes were way ahead of their time, using effects and fuzz boxes on their music to such a degree that they were eventually unable to perform live versions of songs they created in the studio. Their attempts at unheard of electronic and psychedelic amazingness were just too “far out” and when they totally failed to recreate the album “Mass in F Minor” at a live concert in the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium with disastrous results, the writing was on the wall. Yes, they truly did release a mass on album, even sang it in Greek and Latin. Anyway, today’s forgotten oldie is the Electric Prunes’ 2nd single from 1967, “Get Me To The World On Time”.
