Ever feel like you’re not quite up to par during a heatwave? A recent study found that exposure to heat over an extended period of time can reduce your ability to think. Duh. The researchers studied students during last summer’s heat wave in Boston. Half had housing with no air conditioning, while the rest did. After a series of cognitive tests, the non-ac students did 13% worse on math and memory tests than their chilly counterparts. Hey I don’t need any stinking heat wave to feel like an idiot!
