According to a new study, where you live may affect your heart. Over a five year study, researchers found that exposure to low levels of air pollution were associated with a 1 to 2 percent enlargement in the pumping chambers of the heart, and over time could lead to a gradual enlargement, increasing the likelihood of heart failure. According to the study, even short-term exposures to air pollution can trigger heart attacks, strokes, abnormal heart rhythms and worsen heart failure.
