In 1969 the Beach Boys future seemed very uncertain after Brian Wilson stopped being a part of the band. It was Carl Wilson who stepped up and led the group onward releasing a solid hit, “I Can Hear Music”. A cover of an older Ronettes version, the song went top ten around the world as well as top ten in many large U.S. Cities, the Hot 100 only listed it at #24. To me the song is important because it showed another dimension of the Beach Boys… and it’s a great recording. Sadly today it’s another forgotten oldie.
