A restaurant in Montreal has managed to upgrade the humble hot dog to a “deluxe” version that costs $500. The hot dog is topped with slices of Wagyu beef, marinated in 40-year-old Tawny Port, onions caramelized in Dom Pérignon, seared foie gras and shaved black truffles. Then it’s drizzled with Giuesseppe Giusti balsamic reduction, Iranian saffron-infused mayonnaise and edible 24K gold foil, and stuffed into a toasted brioche bun spread with French truffle butter. The good news. It costs $500 in Canadian dollars, so it’s really a more affordable $381. Yeah, so that makes it worth it!
