Actually, it’s today’s forgotten oldie I’m talking about although with our weather lately, this song is appropriate. Thunder and Lightning was a top twenty hit for a young lady from Racine, Wisconsin, in 1972. Her name was Chi Coltrane, and although in the USA she’s officially a one-hit wonder, her follow-up records did extremely well in Europe… so much so that she moved to Europe in 1977. Today she still performs, mostly in the United States where she has a solid following among blues lovers. Her big hit is just another forgotten oldie today, kind of sad considering her talent as a singer and piano player, and her unmistakable beauty.
