A new study revealed that American teenagers don’t read books like they used to. In fact, a third of the teens haven’t read a single book for pleasure in the past year. In the late 70’s, some 60% of 12th graders reported reading a book or magazine almost daily. Only 16% did by 2016. Not surprising, the culprits are social media, gaming, texting, and web surfing, which have taken the place of reading. Unless you count reading on social media and the like.
