In 1965 a wave of songs from the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and the Animals changed our lives forever by making rock and roll a force for social change. The Animals “It’s My Life” was an angry shout from the band and it’s audience that I will do what I want and think what I want because it’s my life. The song climbed to #20 on Cashbox in the USA, and was a hit around the world as well. The world was changing, and so was the music we listened to on the radio. The song has been covered by a number of artists over the years and was a staple of Bruce Springsteen tours in the 70’s. The song deserves better, a forgotten oldie that changed many lives.
