Paul Revere and the Raiders were a well established American rock band when they scored their only #1 on the Hot 100. In 1971 (now performing as The Raiders) the band had their only song to reach the top of the charts, and their last top twenty hit. “Indian Reservation” had been a hit two years before for Don Fardon hitting #20, but the Raiders’ recording was the better version and the public took notice. Today the huge hit is another forgotten oldie.
