Today’s forgotten oldie is one of those songs that wasn’t a huge hit, but everybody thinks it was. “Magic Bus” by the Who reached #25 on the hot 100 in 1968 (#10 on Cashbox) but it has been a fan favorite, a concert staple, and was played a ton on the radio. The song has also been included in several movie soundtracks, notably Goodfellas and Jerry Maguire. The song has a latin vibe because of a percussion instrument known as claves, pairs of wooden sticks that make a distinctive clicking sound. Magic Bus is singer Roger Daltrey’s favorite song to perform live, but today it’s another forgotten oldie.
